Mein selbstgebauter #MagicMirror ist nun endlich in "prod", nachdem ich die dazu passenden "echten" Spiegel nun auch fertig gebaut habe. Das Design ist schon etwas hart industrial geworden.

Als Rückwand Plexiglasplatte aus dem Baumarkt passend geschnitten, Nut ebenfalls isoliert mit Moosgummiband.
Oben in der Rückwand ist eine Öffnung ausgeschnitten, wo später genau die Steckdose auf der Wand drinliegt.
zusätzlich noch Pi und DisplayController mit einem 2-zu-1-Stromkabel verbunden welches dann in die Steckdose innerhalb des Spiegels kommt. -
Dann wird die ganze Elektronik im Gehäuse drapiert.
Das Netzteil des Displaycontrollers ist so dick dass es auf dem Moosgummi nicht rutschen kann weil es gerade so zwischen Rückwand und Spiegel passt.
Der Displaycontroller liegt einfach unten im Rahmen. Die Steuereinheit wird später oben neben dem Netzteil befestigt damit ich zur Not mal durch die Öffnung der Rückwand Einstellungen am Display vornehmen kann ohne den ganzen Rahmen auseinander bauen zu müssen. -
Der Spionspiegel ist custom gefertigt von https://www.glas-star.de/ und 415x415mm groß.
Das Display stammt aus einem alten Laptop und der passende Controller von aliexpress.
Mit selbstklebendem Moosgummi-Dichtband wird das Display auf dem Spiegel fixiert und die restliche rückseitige Fläche des Spiegels lichtdicht gemacht und in den rahmen eingeschoben. -
Rahmen aus Alu-Profilen Typ B Nut6 20mm von https://www.myaluprofil.de/ Das Teil ist insgesamt 45x45x6cm.
Es sind im Prinzip drei Rahmen aufeinander gesetzt. In die Nut des obersten Rahmens kommt der Spionpiegel in die des untersten die Plexiglasrückplatte. Dazwischen (mittlerer Rahmen) muss genug Platz sein für das dicke Netzteil des Displaycontrollers und natürlich jede Menge Kabel und Stromstecker und den Pi. -

* Display-Controller von AliExpress

* custom Plexiglasplatte 4mm
* custom Pilkington Mirropane Chrome Spy 4mm Spiegel
* kilometerweise selbstklebendes Moosgummi-DichtbandGesamtkosten Rahmen, Glas, div. Material (ohne Pi und Display - die hatte ich bereits): ca. 280€

My #RaspberryPi 4B is acting up and I think it's data corruption(?) from not powering off properly when it stopped responding. I really need to buy a switch to shutdown safely...
I formatted the SSD (SMART status seems ok), flashed the latest #DietPi and slowly setting back my services.
This is a great chance for me to actually sort out the messy initial setup of experimenting with #SelfHosting I'm in the process of setting up a #cron job with #rsync, #syncthing & dietpi-backup now. 🤞#Rpi4

Been trying to keep my #PCEngines #ALIX boards alive, but it looks like #NanoBSD in #FreeBSD doesn't work (compile error in tz!) ...
Nobody seems to still product bootable system images for i386 anymore - not even #NetBSD or #DietPi :(
... which is a real shame; I want to use these extremely reliable, low-power SBCs as #Zabbix Proxies (using memory-backed #SQLite for the DB), but this seems to be a realllllllly big lift :(
@dexter is this something #OccamBSD can help me with? No chance of a 14.3 serial-console image out there?
