Frage, was macht dieses Föderieren zwischen unterschiedlichen Diensten aus #UX Sicht für einen Sinn? Zwischen gleichen Diensten wie #Mastdon hat das durchaus Nutzen, aber z.B. dieser #Fitpub mit Mastodon "sync" verwirrt doch nur. Zwei Benutzendenkonten mit Daten in zwei Applikationen, von denen jeweils nur ein Konto vernünftig managed werden kann, weil die Funktionen der Applikationen zwar überlappend, aber nicht deckungsgleich sind. Das raff ich zwar als ITler, aber sonstwer? #Fediverse

Ironically, you often get better freedom of speech without hate speech.

Many people will tell you that the Fediverse is a great place to speak freely. I have found it can actually be a great way to get stuck in a bubble — if you’re not careful.

For example, I believe that both Israel and Palestine have the right to exist peacefully.

That simple statement — expressing a desire for peace and for no one to be harmed — is enough to get silenced if the staff favors one side over the other. Censorship is widespread if you happen to be on a Fediverse site in the United States or much of Europe.

No hate speech. No misinformation. No personal attacks. Just a harmless, peaceful opinion.

Most Asian Fediverse sites allow people to disagree. You don’t have to agree with me — or anyone else — provided you do so respectfully. If you’re respectful, you won’t find your account silenced or removed.
