What's new in the XML Converter Plugin for OJS 3.5 Support
Generate publication XML updates the metadata of JATS XML files in the production stage with OJS metadata from the UI, previewing journal metadata, title, dates, license and contributors before anything is written.
Create galleys from XML, fetch and attach referenced JATS images as dependent files, and flag missing OJS metadata so editors can fix it first.

Of course when you hit that, it's “I've got a hammer and I never noticed before, but I'm surrounded by nails!”
It follows, then, that love in this definition is not *wisdom*.
Wisdom largely comes from using the hammer trying to bash in a screw, and learning that what you really needed was a different kind of tool entirely.

The #Balisage2026 conference is over, not for another year but forever.
We knew it was coming, but it’s still very emotional - it’s the last in a series of conferences i first went to in 1989.
Balisage did not end because markup is no longer a good idea - the organisers are retiring. Markup is more useful now than it has ever been.

2. Use OAuth 2.0. For fuck sake, it's RIGHT. FUCKING. THERE.
3. Use a simple "signature" keys. It's 2026, we use HTTPS, nobody is going to eavesdrop.
4. Get short-lived token → create document → sign it → send it with the token as Auth: Bearer. Is *THAT* easy.
