Ever since I left Adobe #Lightroom in mid-2025, I’ve been using #digiKam from #KDE for #digitalassetmanagement

I find it quite a good #FOSS to manage my extensive library of photographs (+100k images). But almost every time there’s a version upgrade, the internal #MySQL / #mariadb database breaks.

Hmmm. Die Kamera (Sony A6700) zeigt GPS-Daten bei Fotos an (geschrieben von Geotag Alpha). Digikam nicht, mit Exiftool habe ich das auf Anhieb auch nichts gefunden. Schreibt Sony die irgendwo außerhalb der Bilder hin? Wenn ja, wie komme ich da ran? Oder ist Digikam das Problem?

Normaler Weise nutzen wir Linux Fedora Workstation und sind sehr zufrieden. Leider muss man hier immer noch einiges nachträglich installieren - treibermäßig.
Nun testen wir mal Nobara - einen Ableger von Fedora. Da ist schon sehr viel implementiert und ich bin zur Zeit sehr angenehm überrascht.
Alles läuft reibungslos - gerade Videoschnitt mit #Kdenlive, aber auch #Inkscape, #DigiKam, etc..
Wir testen weiter :)
