This week, I had a new baby girl! My wife is ok, the baby is ok, everybody's ok. This is my third child so I know what to expect from this life changing event. For now, she is asleep most of the time. I even had a good night's sleep last night. I should be fresh and happy.
My brain still wants to do computer stuff. I have to renew a handcrafted TLS certificate in my homelab that will expire soon. I would like to use my fully automated private CA I deployed a few weeks ago but I don't want to break everything so I need to spawn a cloud instance, set up a second VPN server then choose a host in my lab to configure the client before deploying everywhere using the same (tested) procedure.
When my first daughter woke up, she wanted to play video games on my main computer. I booted my laptop, checked if OpenTofu was installed, it was outdated so I started to upgrade the laptop. Then my son woke up. My laptop doesn't have access to the homelab. It doesn't have the OpenStack credentials to spawn a cloud instance. And now everybody is awake.
To conclude, next time I'll focus on only updating the soon to be expired certificate using the manual method that works, instead of implementing a fully automated process that takes time and doesn't work yet.
It's a rainy day, but it's still not the day that I'll update my docker containers to podman quadlet.
PS: It took me nearly 1 hour in fragmented time to write this post 😅

Immer dasselbe, ey! 😵💫 Hatten wir übrigens auch so mit #OpenVPN-Verbindungen auf der Arbeit von Dual-Stack-Lite-Anschlüssen wegen Home-Office. Aber da musste auch erst mal drauf kommen... denke vernünftiges Erreichbarkeit via #IPv6 hätte auch geholfen.
⚠️ Also: Habt ihr Internet via TV-Kabel (mit DS-Lite) und eure Netzverbindung lahmt oder ist unzuverlässig? Versucht es mit einer niedrigen MTU.

Разбираю четыре уровня обнаружения: от проверки IP по базам до DPI-анализа TLS fingerprint’ов и российских ТСПУ с пропускной способностью 132 Тбит/с, которые в марте 2026-го ушли в bypass из-за перегрузки.

Ich kann mit nmcli eine #openvpn Konfiguration nicht importieren:
rainer@papa:~$ nmcli connection import type openvpn file ~/udp.ovpn Error: failed to import '/home/rainer/udp.ovpn': configuration error: unsupported 3th argument vpn_gateway to “route” (line 18).
Problematisch sind diese 3 Zeilen:
route x.x.60.0 255.255.254.0 vpn_gateway route x.x..60.6 255.255.255.255 net_gateway route 10.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 vpn_gateway
Aber ich brauche das (splitted vpn). Ideen? Ich will das VPN dann über ein Keybinding in sway starten/stoppen, (nmcli connection …), deshalb nützt mir keine GUI-Lösung.
Im Terminal einfach openvpn aufrufen geht natürlich, aber das ist ja uncool 😉 -

Сегодня у Яндекса более сотни офисов по всему миру, и в каждом из них нужно обеспечить стабильный доступ к интернету и к внутренним корпоративным ресурсам. Меня зовут Дмитрий Литовченко, я сетевой инженер группы офисных и инфраструктурных сетей в Yandex Infrastructure. В этой статье я расскажу историю, как эволюционировали отношения нашей инфраструктурной сети и сети дата‑центров: наш полученный опыт за несколько лет, декаплинг сетей, планы развития.
