I noticed, among of recent #uBlockOrigin subreddit posts is about this POS. What I see, currently uBO team will defeat this POS up to 12-36 hours after reporting, while they stated they're looking for global rule implementation.
This POS are violating and disrespect user #choices, #privacy, & #security.

I visited a website, the first thing I see is that the background is replaced by a gambling ad 🤢
I have UBlock Origin but for some reasons it didn't block the ad and updating my filters don't help.

Launching my BashCoreGee OS live (bashcore.org) through my custom Raspberry Pi gateway, I think I’ve found the perfect privacy combo.
Tested all four vanilla browsers on Gee: LibreWolf and Mullvad block 97% of domains out of the box, Firefox 77%. Tor Browser hits 20% (different story).

Shivan Kaul Sahib, the VP of Privacy and Security at Brave, has put out a blog post about something that didn't make it into the #Firefox149 release notes at all. The browser now ships #adblockrust, Brave's #opensource #Rust-based #ad and tracker blocking engine.
Shivan also mentions that #Waterfox, the popular Firefox fork, has adopted adblock-rust, building directly upon Firefox's own implementation.

@teufelswerk für mich unverständlich, wie man damit Geld erwirtschaften kann. Die meisten Browser haben einen Werbeblocker vom Start an dabei - wenn man sie denn installiert. #Edge #Chrome #Safari haben diesen Blocker selbstverständlich nicht. Scheinbar gibt es aber noch genügend Nutzer die sich durch die vielen Werbebanner peinigen lassen anstelle selbst aktiv zu werden.

Google (along with Chinese IoT spyware, Samsung, and others) now try to use their hardcoded DNS servers.
My network now fools them all, they think they get a response from their DNS, but it's really my PiHole that answers! NAT + Masquerading FTW!

5 days to go (09.03.2026) and my automated nightly generation of hosts file reaches its first birthday. Мы уже начали использовать приложения, чтобы заказать такси, но курьеру за пиццу по привычке отдавали наличные, потому что так надежнее. Видео в 720p на смартфоне иногда подтормаживает в метро, а шесть часов в интернете за день воспринимались как признак жуткой зависимости. Кажется, что это было буквально недавно, но с точки зрения цифровой эволюции 2016 год — другая геологическая эпоха. Мы привыкли оценивать изменения короткими отрезками: год к году и квартал к кварталу. В подобном масштабе цифры кажутся скучными: «рост на 2%», «падение на 1%». Но если отойти на шаг назад и взглянуть на десятилетие целиком, картина становится пугающей и завораживающей одновременно. Я изучил массивные данные из отчетов Global Digital по России за 10 лет (с 2016 по 2025 год). Это сотни слайдов сухой статистики, которые при наложении друг на друга показывают, как незаметно, но радикально изменилось наше взаимодействие с интернетом и цифровой эпохой в целом. На этот раз обойдемся без сложных метрик и долгих текстов — вас ждут пять фундаментальных сдвигов: как мы перестали спать, почему убрали на полку компьютеры, как обманули западную статистику и почему TikTok физически не мог появиться в России десять лет назад. Так сказать, добро пожаловать в цифровую машину времени.

Still messing around with email clients (still worried @thunderbird will get infected by @mozilla's AI stupidity) and Kmail's got a serious deficiency.
By default it won't load remote content in email; that's good! When you turn it on for a message, it turns on for everything in the message; that's bad!
Ideally you'd get to choose what, so you can leave out all that tracking crap that infects everything.
Maybe there's a plugin or something…

Sick and tired of your Android TV set top box filling your house with unrequested billboard advertising?
Install Projectivity Launcher as the default launcher app and banish advertising out of sight forever.
I've had it installed on the big TV in the media room for the better part of a week and it's been great. My main swim lane is Jellyfin, S'Tube, F1 TV, Gem, Telus TV+, and that's pretty much it. All the apps seem to work fine with Projectivity as a launcher.
I installed from the G Play store but maybe check if it's in Fdroid or Aptoide or your other favourite.
I still want to build a custom Linux based STB but this app knocks it down the to do list a few hundred places. Ha.
