Well, Citadel's AppImage won't launch (aborts after failing to create an EGL context or something), and Arianna seems to be too simplistic.
I've got a directory full of Kobo-tweaked ePubs (via kepubify), and a directory full of PDFs. I want to add those two directories as-is, and be able to tag the ones that I've already read. 🤷

Spending some time/energy this morning looking for a Calibre replacement. I only really used it for organizing my epubs/PDFs, not actually reading things. My Kobo shows up as a USB drive, so I don't need anything that has any special reader support.
There are a *lot* of ePub reader apps, which isn't what I'm after.
Going to look at Citadel and Arianna at least; are there any others worth trying?

for anyone using #Calibre & not keen on the recent(ish) addition of “AI” (🙄) into it, AFAICT the last version before they started adding it in is 8.10.0 – downloads of binaries & source at https://download.calibre-ebook.com/8.10.0/
a bunch™ of people have also forked it to strip out any “AI” (🙄), of course, but I don’t think there’s any clear dominant fork yetamusingly, someone has called their fork #Clbre, since they’re removed both the A & the I from the name… 😆
edit: I updated the text & link above from v8.11.0 to 8.10.0 as I found some “AI” (🙄) stuff in the config settings in 8.11.0 (to do with choosing which chatbot you wanted to use 🙅♀️) – hopefully if you stick with 8.10.0 it’ll be free of #SpicyAutocarrot 🤞 -
