Happy: got a Kobo Clara BW ereader and it's a big upgrade from my 2018 Kindle Paperwhite.
- treats my sideloaded books as part of my regular library instead of shunting them off into 'documents'
- sorts even sideloaded books by series, Author, etc
- integrated with Overdrive, so I can borrow books from my local public library directly from my device
- newer screen tech=faster refresh rates
- usb c is just nice

Anyways, it's awesome and I'm very happy.

I also debated a Boox Go Gen II with the stylus (I miss my Note 8 tablet w/stylus), but decided against it because of battery life, repairability, and water proofness (that tablet's battery pillowed and my battery repair failed).

Also, shout-out to Humble Bundle for selling me a ton of DRM-free books to sideload. I recently got the Mercedes Lackey and Robert Silverberg mega bundles. #calibre #kobo #ereaders #happyhappy #boox #humblebundle

With what looks like the final demise of the #Marvin #ebook reader on iOS approaching, I’ve finally got around to finishing off my shell script for importing a Marvin backup into #Calibre. Does a decent job, including ratings and collections. Anyone interested in a copy?

REMINDER: clock is ticking with Amazon changing the ability to USB transfer Kindle content to your computer.

Converted all my Kindle purchases to PDF. Thankfully not a huge lift when using Calibre. It does batching. I didn't have that many documents.

I didn't get into Kindle much - devices were off-putting (too small) so never fully bought into it for casual reading. Technical reading had other issues (image quality). Also cloud crap... so bit of a mental barrier as well (yes, I've always been this way - ha).

I bought a few readers to stick in the glove boxes of my hobby cars as portable copies of the service manuals. The idea was to have them in the glovebox when things go pear shaped when overlanding or on race day (bt/dt). But, ideas that never really fully materialized in an organized manner.
