6 years ago hosting a #Elixir #Phoenix app was daunting.
From #Gigalixir, #Render, to #Flyio.
The tools from those providers did a lot, but at the time there's always something missing that needed manual fixing and custom scripting.
Finally settled on a good cheap VPS that I could control.
I wanted an experience similar to Heroku and a #Dokku VPS did the job.
I like it. Few edge cases, and since I know my way around docker I'll manage just fine.

This thing is still kind of a mess but I'm having a great time working on it. 😍
Cleaned up the base building generator today and found and fixed a problem with the way building data was passing along data for rooftops.
Some buildings get rounded now, some buildings get a glowing rooftop, and there is a basic street traffic effect.

The Skytrains are back!
She remembered the Skytrains from when she was a kid. They were the symbol of the workers and their unions. When the Colonial Suppression Units took over, they became the symbol of resistance. The CSU won and the Skytrains vanished for many, many years. Then the rebels found them stashed away and were able to steal them from under the CSU's noses. They again became a symbol of rebellion and freedom.
And now they were flying freely again.

Iterating on this some more! Added a (populated) moon to the sky, fixed the UVs on the building screens and added some videos, and changed the base mesh of the city to be less uniform.

I'm honestly not sure I'm keeping the video online but for the moment it is.
It's a 30 minutes improvisation in video and audio, with a feeling of power and heat, scorching. The whole think is rendered in 4K (and should be watched in high def) (and weights 80 Go !!!) and was rendered with custom tools and improvised live coding sounds.What do you think ? Should i keep it online ?
