Das #Tonbandgerät B93 wurde um 1979 bei #Tesla im tschechischen #Přelouč produziert und zählte neben den späteren #Talisman #Röhrenradios wohl zu den #Designklassikern der #ČSSR. Das Auffälligste an dem ansonsten mittelmäßig ausgestatteten Stereogerät stellt hierbei wohl das flache Gehäuse mit den diagonal versetzten Bandspulen dar. Durch die geringe Gehäusetiefe und entsprechende Ösen lässt es sich an der Wand montieren.

‘St. Catharine’s Well’, bird’s nest assemblage partially inserted into a round 8” x 8” stretched canvas. The thing about this assemblage is that the inside of the nest is so soft. I glazed the outside but left the inside as the bird left it. It is meant to be touched. New game I played this week:

Talisman (4th edition) - Try to reach the Crown of Command in this fantasy world. We played with some quicker rules and the game still took almost 3 hours (with 3 players). There are many rules, but it actually feels quite simple to play. Lots of luck involved I feel - Spaces near the end might teleport you all the way to the beginning if you roll poorly. I managed to win though.

While I don't claim that #Talisman is an excellent game, it was very significant to me growing up. I still feel that at the very worst it's Monopoly with a better theme. At best it's a boardgame shaped invitation to a world of adventure and role playing games.

...but this is coming from someone whose first conscious media choice as a child was to dive into anything related to the 1977 Rankin Bass _The Hobbit_ movie and who grew up when fantasy boardgames took deliberate effort to find.

So I got a chance to play Talisman Alliances with some friends last night and that game is awesome. Without spoiling things it’s really cool to see a board game that can end on a cliffhanger. I never played Pandemic Legacy but I bet this is very similar.

I used to play #rpgs when I was young, late 70s early 80s, but we would also play the occasional #BoardGame. #Talisman was a favourite, #MagicRealm, #CosmicEncounters and others saw some play as well. A few years ago I played #Dungeoneer with a friend, but I've now discovered that there are lots of games that you can play solo, something that will likely suit me. This was incredibly rare back then!
I just ordered #ArkhamHorror the card game and #KinfireDelve for some solo fun.

Okay, so there's a joke in the xBiking community about having "Talismans" on your bike, and I want to turn into the skid and take it a little more literally. I already have a Nazar on my saddlebag, but I'd love to inscribe some wards/glyphs/sigils/runes as I build it up, and I'm looking for ideas.

I'm building the wheels, and wheelbuilders already frequently hang a loop around the hub, so that could be an interesting place to hang something.

Etching protective glyphs along the fender is kind of what got me down this rabbithole.

I know rotating circles are supposed to be powerful, so inscribing something along the rims might be interesting.

I'm open to ideas from any culture or tradition, but would prefer to avoid christian/angelic iconography. Just not my speed.

This bike is moving in a bit of a goblincore direction, and I'd like to lean into that.

I'm open to trading mechanic expertise for favors, or skillsharing!

And this happened... I accidentally left my #yubikey (this one on dogtag chain I always had on me) in friend's house :blobcatsad2:
Now I really feel naked or like I sudenly lost my weapon or my "magic powers". Have to take it back soon because it's very uncomfortable even if technically I have enough backup configurations to use other #yubikeys to access my things (all my devices/accounts are strongly dependent on yubikeys so I made good backups from the beginning).
