This is very similar to a piece I created and posted here a couple of weeks ago, using the same baking soda technique, but I used a wider and brighter range of colors. I used canes of green, rose and blue glass with encased strands of opaque white to make the beads for this 18-inch necklace. The white strands give the beads a sense of movement. The colors suggest the holidays, but this could be worn anytime. I can never get enough blue; all kinds of blue. In this new piece, I used a marbled blue to make the donut beads, a deep transparent blue for the tubular beads, and a pale transparent amethyst for the focal bead, enhanced with the other two blues. Happy first Friday of 2024. I shot this little video last night. This is done, and I'm pleased. 18 inches long. Dark transparent purple with applied and raked trails of marbled light opaque blue.
