Something new in my Ko-fi store: This necklace is 20 inches long. I used transparent red, transparent topaz, and various shades of opaque red and other warm colors of Murano glass, all with added trailing. I used canes of green, rose and blue glass with encased strands of opaque white to make the beads for this 18-inch necklace. The white strands give the beads a sense of movement. The colors suggest the holidays, but this could be worn anytime. It may never be pretty, but it's functional. I'm up and running in my new studio, the old metal-roofed cinder block building on the property. I've run power 150 feet to the structure, cleared it of debris, etc. and am set up with a hot head. I can never get enough blue; all kinds of blue. In this new piece, I used a marbled blue to make the donut beads, a deep transparent blue for the tubular beads, and a pale transparent amethyst for the focal bead, enhanced with the other two blues. This was a fun piece to make, using off-white / cream colored opaque and bright white opaque glass to make the beads. These were rolled in a range of different frit mixtures, resulting in really satisfying color combinations that pop upon close inspection.
