I used a transparent red glass in a slightly orange shade to make the beads, rolled them in gold colored mica powder and put them back in the flame for a few seconds. With the holidays upon us, I've been making lots of affordable pendants and pendant beads on faux leather cords, for use as stocking stuffers or impulse buys. Yesterday our Saturday market became a Sunday mini-market, as Saturday was the Veteran's Day parade. Just 3 blocks long, instead of our usual 6. It was chilly, but with glorious sunshine. When a customer is deciding whether to buy a piece, I suggest they take it into the sunshine. That usually clinches the sale. Something new that's definitely not blue. I used shades of opaque and transparent red, peach, topaz, mauve, and other shades of glass to make this 19 inch necklace. Most are barrel or tubular shaped, but I've also made 6 small beads I rolled in gold colored mica while hot.
