I've used a transparent smoke colored glass to make these beads, along with champagne and white overlaid with dark purple that appears black in all but bright natural light, and some opaque earth tones. Something new in my Etsy shop. I used 3 types of blue to make the beads for this piece: both dark and light opaque marbled blue and transparent electric blue. I've just finished this, which is directly based upon ancient Hellenistic and early Roman "evil eye" beads. I've used Murano glass, of course, to make the components. The focal beads is transparent dark violet, the other beads transparent cobalt blue, and the "eyes" opaque yellow, teal and dark red.
