Fun with enamel and glass. I used clear glass for this necklace, rolling it in 3 colors of enamel while white-hot. For the pendant, I used purple and teal on one side, green on the other, against a white enamel background, leaving it in the torch just long enough to create a textured "orange peel" effect. This necklace evokes some of the colors of the Southwest generally, and New Mexico in particular. Several different colors of opaque glass used here, with a dark turquoise peeking through the earthy red, orange and yellow tones. I made the central pendant resemble a sort of talisman. I thought yesterday would be a pretty ordinary day at our local market, but with lots of tourists from more northerly climates visiting, it turned out to be a very good day.
