Bought some lettuce seedlings and some baby cukes from the local farmstand. I have plenty of sungold tomatoes and some lettuce plants already going, so salads are back on the menu. We did end up throwing out some packaged salad greens, spinach and cole slaw (which was the culprit in a previous Cyclospora outbreak). I hate throwing out produce, but there's no way that stuff is going into the compost pile!

It’s not Canada. Its the corporation and major shareholders in oil and gas that influence politics tobensure their interests are looked after.
Rationally, for financial reasons, if not the ne plus ultra of living in a clean environment, everyone amd all business would generate their own renewable energy and drive electric for their vehicle needs.
We already have a electricity grid to 99.99% of buildings. Adding rooftop solar adds all the energy and more to go heatpumps and EV.
All possible now unless you really insist on the voluntary taxation of fossil fuels!

If people in your circles have mobility challenges, you can offer to pick things up for them.
This might not be a cure-all for systemic issues with identity verification and privacy concerns, but it does help push back. And it supports your local businesses.

An interesting comment from a local shop owner in Berlin which I had a chat with.
"During corona it showed people do have interest in supporting local shops. The conclusion -after calculating- is that if every person uses only 3 local shops to buy their things at, then local shops can survive.'
This is just great, and another reason why the idea behind Lokjo is 'on the point'.
