So, pro-tip from the local farmstand (where I buy produce and some seedlings from) -- when growing #Tomatoes, plant #Basil and #Marigolds with them -- even if growing container tomatoes (which is what I do). I love my local growers! They rock! 💚 🌿 🍅 🌻

Rain, more rain.
Yes!
You can hear the grass trying to sprout new growth, breaking through the dead brown top-growth.And our rainwater collection tanks are slowly but surely refilling.
And the creek is running again, with the moss and ferns greening up nicely.Now, if only the temps would moderate a wee bit- low-mid 50s°F at night won't kill the crops, but some of them aren't thrilled about it.
Tough year for farmers here.
And before you say "So what?"- who do you think grows the produce you buy in your local grocery store or farmer's market? Buy locally-grown produce if you can- help your local small farms out- they aren't raking in the big $$$ like big corporate farming operations are. And here's a hint- they also tend to pay and care for their workers better than big corpo farms do- because they know how hard the work is. They've done it, some of them since their childhooods. Instead of sitting behind a big desk pushing a pencil and counting dollars.
