Radial gebänderte Ringperlen. Ein bei den Kelten der Laténe-Zeit verbreiteter Glasperlentypus, der in der Fachliteratur oft als "nahtlos" bezeichnet wird, was aus der Sicht der Handwerkerin lustig ist, da hierbei eben gerade eine Naht entsteht, weil das Muster nicht, wie bei den meisten Glasperlen auf eine bereits gedrehte Perle aufgebracht wird, sondern der ganze Perlenkörper sammt Muster vorab hergestellt und dann in Form gebracht wird.

Nämlich meine sehr genaue Interpretation ( Replik) eines Donaukeltischen Perlengebindes aus Novo Mesto, Slovenien.

Something new that's definitely not blue. I used shades of opaque and transparent red, peach, topaz, mauve, and other shades of glass to make this 19 inch necklace. Something new in both my Etsy shop and Ko-fi shop. I used earth tones on these opaque beads, rolling them on a corrugated metal surface while they were red hot, creating the spiral surface texture. I ran out of stretch bracelets at my last market, and need to make more. I don't want to make something predictable or cutesy. So I'm pleased with these flat beads using Moretti colors: black marble, marbled grey, pink, creamy white, and deep red., all wrapped in a layer of clear. I made these beads at the torch using transparent red and topaz glass, arranging the red beads to one side, and topaz to the other. The focal bead is red glass encased in clear, with fused gold mica on the surface. Handmade glass art from my studio.

Sometimes, when working on a larger piece, I pause for a bit and just make something else, like a random bead, pendant, or sculpture. This is a large, thick pendant bead with a core of fire engine red opaque glass, and marbling in other opaque colors, including teal, orange, grey, beige and yellow. 🧵 2/ More #perlage #flowers. These are made by me in another technique which allows to work on different and smaller forms. I reconstructed the technique thanks to many photos of historical findings. Why is the #craft disappearing? It is extremely labour-intensive, the material (usually from manufacturers) is very expensive and you need a lot of it. People no longer want to pay a reasonable price for such art.
