Our local newspaper, the Salem Reporter, is needing to raise $4,500 by August 1st, 2026 to support two interns from the #UniversityOfOregon.

They're working to raise the final $4,500 needed to fully support two University of Oregon reporting interns who are spending the summer in their newsroom learning how to deliver the fair, accurate local news we rely on.

This program helps prepare the next generation of trusted local news reporters while strengthening coverage for our community today. Because Salem Reporter is locally owned and funded, this opportunity is only possible with community support.

Every gift to the Salem Reporter News Fund is tax-deductible, and every dollar goes directly to the cost of reporting. There are no administrative fees.

I can never get enough blue; all kinds of blue. Happy first Friday of 2024. I shot this little video last night. When your beads have cooled, you've cleaned them up, assembled them, added spacers and a toggle, and you hold it up to the light in your studio and think: Yeah, that works. It's good. An experiment that I think was successful: Trying to mimic the appearance of an old mirror losing its silvered surface.
