Artist: Irvin RodriguezThe sword intrigues me, mainly due to its non-standard combined what could be a fairly practical design. I have many conflicting thoughts on lashunta and swords. Do they have them? Yes. Are they a preferred weapon? That's where it gets complicated.
Per my homebrew history, lashunta first learned of sword from the elves, back during the ancient elfwars, though they didn't surge in popularity until the Thief-Queens' conquest. In their association with outriders (being damaya), they have primarily stayed lightweight. Lady Vaeol has a sword: a recurved saber-like blade gifted from Semuane her maidenlove, and of obvious elven design.
Axes remain a mainstay of lashunta weaponry, especially for korasha. Yet given that I've given myself 12,000 years of history to play with, I suppose that allows plenty of opportunity for variation, no?

Random odd thought: as part of classical lashunta art, damaya females in positions of power are often portrayed pregnant. This is a visible representation of lashunta female psychic birthmight, in which the mother's innate psychic talents get augmented by her child (and represents a prospective matron's best opportunity to run for office).

Artist: Warwick Goble (1912)Here, at the end of Part 6 of _A Castrovel Adventure_, and with Lady Vaeol and the Golarion Worldfare contemplating jumping through the elfgate to Kyonin, how much of their thoughts are of high adventure? Conversely, how much of their thoughts are of home?
This pic reminds of a civilian scene among Castrovel's lashunta: an ornamental lily yard within a city, with people pursuing mundance tasks or pleasures. Contrary to so many adventure, I believe my characters are thinking of the family and loved ones they have left behind, including Remaue, Vaeol's wifemate pregnant right before the worldfare left. Now Vaeol, Kaure, Oshis, Erymi, Tae, and Less guiltily wonder how she does without them, even as they wonder whether they will ever return to Castrovel.
