Artist: Garrett HannaLet me start by saying there is something I deeply dislike about the legend of Perseus and Medusa. Is there myth more fundamentally misogynistic?
And yet, given lashunta's horror and aversion to snakes and their ancient war with the Moqeva, what is the likelihood they have their own variation? Maybe instead of a heroic tale, it's a tragedy? What if a damaya was cursed to slowly turn ophidianly monstrous, both in shape and deed? What if the warrior who ultimately slays her is her lover, in complete contravention of lashunta social values, but does so as an act of mercy?

Artist: Edward John Poynter (1836 - 1919)i've previously mentioned that dance is fundamental to lashunta culture, unleastly because it is a trigger activity for initiating ~Saeahi~ - psychic communion.
This doesn't mean lashunta exist as hivemind (unlike the formians). ~Saeahi~ is a temporary, possibly ecstatic state. Yet it has fundamentally shaped lashunta society with achieving a radical honesty that breaks down individual and social barriers that so often plague human consciousness. It factors as a level-setter and helps ensure lashunta's emotional needs are met, and likely contributes to their overall value in altruism.
