It's really annoying, as more details emerge about the trade deal #Carney wisely walked away from, that news media in the #US (understandable) but also supposedly balanced papers like the #Guardian talk about how Carney's decision was all about tariffs. No mention of the fact that the trade deal as finally presented to Canadians was, quite literally, an agreement to give Washington suzerainty over another sovereign nation. Trump demanded control over Canadian foreign policy and some of its most important domestic policy. This has nothing to do with trade.

The article said that the charges were made up.

But in fact, it was Deghani’s article that was made up. Completely. And now — he says in the hope of forgiveness from God — he has admitted it”
