  2. #cycling is such a good #IntervalTraining for runners  :slothOK:  (and less stressful for body)

  3. Intervals day again and some tempo repeats, 3x8 minutes with 3 minutes rest. Pace ok but hr into threshold towards the end of the reps although where I run for these type of runs is in a dip and rises towards the end so have to compensate with allowing hr to rise or pace to drop #running #Intervaltraining #polarrunning #runnersofmastodon

Yes, it’s time to say konnichiwa to the ‘Japanese walking method’, which is a

  5. Base training continues this week hoping to build up a good aerobic base ready for my first planned race in 6 months time, Athens Half Marathon. Today some speed work to hopefully improve vo2 max and some 5x5 minute reps at 5k pace #running #intervaltraining #aerobicbasebuilding #corosrunning #runnersofmastodon #RunningCommunity

  6. Went out with some slight trepidation for today’s workout, a really challenging intervals session and something I have done before. 8x1km at 10k pace with 2 minutes recovery. Most I’ve ran in the past was maybe 6 a while back. Found it tough towards the end of the session and had to resort to my copd inhaler to help out but on the whole a good solid workout and happy with pace being consistent throughout #running #intervaltraining #corosrunning #runnersofmastodon

  7. We were dog sitting last week for a friend. It was nice spending some time with a dog; I grew up with dogs in the house, but currently we don't have any pets. Surprisingly, going for walks with the dog gave me some ideas that might help my running.

When I went on a walk with the dog, I would jog/run with him when he wanted and stop when he wanted to sniff stuff/pee. So it ended up being like interval training but easy. None of the segments were long enough to get me out of breath. But it felt really good at the end. I am not exactly sure how to describe it, but my legs felt activated.

  9. A repeat of last week’s interval session, 5x5 minutes at threshold pace but this time only 90 seconds rest instead of 2 minutes. Managed to keep pacing more consistent this time and heart rate max similar to last week #running #intervaltraining #10ktraining #corosrunning #runnersofmastodon #RunningCommunity

  10. Thought I’d have a go at the “Norwegian Method” today, 4x4 minutes with 3 minutes jog recovery. Happy with the effort put in and averaging 4:41 min/km will be a good benchmark to start with #running #4x4minutes #intervaltraining #polarrunning #norwegianmethod #runnersofmastodon #RunningCommunity

  11. 6x6 minute intervals was the plan for today. Was hoping to push a little harder but it’s been a while since I’ve ran an intense rep time wise for a few months. Aim was 5 min/km actual was 5:11 min/km so hope to improve on the next one #running #intervaltraining #10ktraining #polarrunning #runnersofmastodon #runningcommunity

  12. Goal pace repeats was the order of the day. 20 minutes warm up, 8x2 minutes with 1 minute walk recovery followed by 10 minutes cool down. Got a 10k race in 6 weeks and plan to run it around 51-55 minutes so to average 5:11 min/km is about right #running #runchat #polarrunning #intervaltraining #runnersofmastodon #RunningCommunity

  13. First intervals session for over 6 months Didn’t push too hard just enough to get the heart rate up. 20 minutes warm up, 15x30 second repeats with 15 seconds active recovery followed by a 10 minute jog home #running #intervaltraining #speedrunning #adidasrunning #runnersofmastodon #RunningCommunity #oldguysrule

  14. Interval session today. Warm up was probably a little quicker than wanted as my chest strap was giving false readings and needs time to settle down and be more accurate which gladly did before any speed work took place. 2 x 5 minutes with 2 minutes recovery. First at 5k pace and second at mile pace, choice of music might have helped with that last one with some good old Liverpool death metal from Carcass #running #halfmarathontraining #intervaltraining #runningcommunity #runnersofmastodon

  15. A short, tough but very good interval workout today. 2 x 4 minutes with 2 minutes rest, gave an all out effort which saw an improvement on average pace per speed session from 4:36 to 4:28 min/km since the same run two weeks ago #running #halfmarathontraining #intervaltraining #adiidasrunning #polarrunning #runnersofmastodon #mastorunners #RunningCommunity #oldguysrule #greenmachine

  16. Super tough 10 x 3 minute interval session 🥵🥵 tried to keep in the shade as much as possible and to use the recoveries to take in fluid. Some tough climbs in places but still managed to average 10k race pace for the intervals #running #intervals #intervaltraining #halfmarathontraining #polarrunning #loverunning #runningmotivation #runningfitness #RunnersOfMastodon #mastorunners #youdonthavetoberippedtobearunner #oldguysrule #dreadlocks #dreadlockrunner
