  3. had a threshold and vo2 max test done at a place called The Endurance Store in Wrightington. Well pleased with vo2 max at 44.2, not bad for someone almost 61 😁 Although my LT1 and LT2 estimations were out compared to the test which gave 140 bpm and 172 bpm, my last field test gave a higher reading so some adjustments needed there #running #vo2max #thresholdtest #runnersofmastodon #oldguysrule

Anyway threshold running today, 10 minutes warm up then 30 minutes threshold, I tried to guess what pace to run off a previous 5k I did recently, which worked out at 5:24 min/km average hr 181 bpm.     15 minutes warm up, 45 minutes zone 1/2 running and 5 minutes cool down walk.   19. Finishing 2024 with a hard worked 30 minutes. Definitely a struggle today, heart rate up to over 90% of MHR and lungs fighting to take in oxygen. So with my level of fitness lately a sub 30 5k is pretty damn good. First run over an hour for some time and boy what a struggle it was! 😩😫 Wanted to run the main part in zone 3 and hopefully keep a decent pace but alas not today, breathing heavy, heart rate climbing too much so having to slow to a walk on a few occasions. My aerobic base has definitely dropped over the past 2 months.
