#trailrunning #MedalMonday Soča 50k was cancelled due to the extreme heat and thanks to that I didn’t have to DNF as we just did a shorter 34k course. Lovely scenery, brutally hot - I had to sit in a lake after 24k to cool a bit before the last big climb. I was absolutely wasted at the end - had a big sob and sat in the river, glad to be alive and that the punishment was over. Then I went back to the campsite, laid down, was sick, and utterly useless for the next 4 hours😂 Not even an #ultramarathon and that was the toughest race of my life. It’s fair to say I couldn’t have done more on the day.
