  7. Finishing 2024 with a hard worked 30 minutes. Definitely a struggle today, heart rate up to over 90% of MHR and lungs fighting to take in oxygen. So with my level of fitness lately a sub 30 5k is pretty damn good.   9. a failed … well sort of … tempo run. 10 minutes warm up then was supposed to do around 70 minutes in zone 3 but had to call it a day about 6 miles in 😔 my hamstring starting causing problems again and affecting tendons around the knee making running painful and difficult.   10. Today’s long run was a much better effort than last week. Slightly different route ran in the opposite direction and wearing different shoes, my Nike Invincibles which are a bit lighter.   12. They say every run has a purpose but tbh I was struggling to find one. Today was a struggle from start to finish, wrong shoe choice, deliberately wore my Adistars as they are on the heavy side and wanted to run a slower pace but they ended up being too cumbersome. First run over an hour for some time and boy what a struggle it was! 😩😫 Wanted to run the main part in zone 3 and hopefully keep a decent pace but alas not today, breathing heavy, heart rate climbing too much so having to slow to a walk on a few occasions. My aerobic base has definitely dropped over the past 2 months. Took a walk to the local gym, which is only 10 minutes away for some treadmill running and strength training. 30 minute run with 15 minutes at tempo keeping hr below 170 bpm as much as possible then some work on my quads and calfs followed by some squats, glute bridges and russian twists #running #temporunning #treadmillrunning #gymfitness #strengthtraining #polarrunning #therunningcommunity #oldguysrule

  34. Tonight’s easy recovery run was more of a struggle than it was on the same route as last week, pace about 20 seconds slower per km and heart rate up about 5 beats on average.
