    I took 16 seconds off my previous best 2 mile time (21:02 ->20:46)... and 50 seconds off my previous best 5k (34:00 -> 33:10). In news that shouldn't surprise anyone, if you run slightly slower so that you don't have to walk as much, your average pace is faster :)

  9. Finishing 2024 with a hard worked 30 minutes. Definitely a struggle today, heart rate up to over 90% of MHR and lungs fighting to take in oxygen. So with my level of fitness lately a sub 30 5k is pretty damn good.   13. New Adidas Takumi Sen 9 running shoes came today. Didn’t have chance to go out until later on and was ill prepared as no warm up at all and didn’t use my inhaler. Was intending to run a fairly fast 10k originally but decided to just run 5k then jog home on second thoughts after about a couple of minutes felt ok to continue but ran the second 5k a little slower. Shoes felt light and snappy so hope to see what they can do when I’m better prepared #running #10krun #5krun #runnersofmastodon

Been wanting to do this for some time but finding a relatively flat route and with minimal traffic n restrictions meant it got put back more times than wanted. 5k threshold run to determine hr zones for future training. At the gym today for some core strength: 3 x 20 seconds: plank, side plank, Russian twists, hollow body hold, glute bridges, hamstring walks, flutter kicks, side abductors, squats, lunges, reverse lunge with step ups and toe and heel walks.   17. I can honestly say that was a more productive day. Decided to run a threshold test so I could reset my zones. 5 minutes warm up then intended to run 30 minutes fast ish pace but hadn’t realised where I chose to run had a couple of inclines so called it a day after 25 minutes.
