I was asked to print card holders for Munchkin board game. Most of the models I found were corners, or separators for existing boxes, and I didn't imagine it would be too pleasant to pick a card out, or place it in.
Thankfully, I found a photo of a model of this kind, and since it was unavailable, I reverse-modelled it, with added squirrels and cats.
Used #FreeCAD, #Inkscape, #Cura, and my heavily modified Ender 3v2.
If you by any chance remember my neverending struggle with layer shifts, it finally ended with replacing the board, and installing CrTouch. Whatever was wrong with the board, I'll never know, as it looked and smelled fine, and wasn't overheating at all.

Built a custom exhaust flange to vent 3D printer fumes out a window—designed in FreeCAD using parametric modeling and printed on a Sovol SV06 “ACE”. Includes model, slicer settings, and lessons learned (including what not to forget 😄).

Model is open sourced.

of the washer and into the dryer. That can start mildew issues.
In any case, the tools used, were #FreeCad for design, #OrcaSlicer for slicing and starting the print, a Bambu Lab A1Mini to print on, an #Aqara sensor, and #HomeAssistant to monitor/automate alerts. If there is any interest in this, I can put the model up on Thangs.

My first #cyberdeck, #3dprint, #raspberry Pi 5.
In theory everything fits perfectly.
In practice though, not so much... had to reroute the switch to the outside (the PETG expanded and sagged more than I expected) and as two flaps broke off (my mistake in #FreeCAD, they had 0.1mm distance from where they should have attached), had to close the case with tape instead.
But otherwise it works... -

A workflow that works with all OS.
From #Blender3D to Plasticity via converting #SubD to Curve then into #Beziér and decimating with adaptive and exporting into #SVG with #LeoMoon Add-on and importing SVG into #FreeCAD and exporting into IGES or STEP and then import into Plasticity, however you can use this workflow your with preferred application.

With simple surfaces, the result obtained by converting the #SubD into #nurbs is excellent, without a flaw, here I tried to make a comparison with the CADs, creating the same hull from the lines extracted from the #Blender model with #Moi3D. Using Blender saves you from hours of effort. #FreeCAD #Plasticity

I’ve had an Adafruit Macropad for a little over 3 years, and while I was working from home at the start of that period it was permanently on, connected to my MacBook Pro on my desktop, with a variety of shortcuts configured for driving different apps that I used day-to-day. My configuration is on GitHub.
More recently, I have not been using it nearly as much.
Last weekend for our Makeroni meetup, I pulled it out of my kit bag and started to tinker some more. I have a variety of additional Qwiic / StemmaQT controls and sensors that I wanted to play with, so I updated to the most recent stable build of CircuitPython and started to have a look at them.
I also noticed that it is a nice size to act as a companion device to the MNT Pocket Reform…
MNT Pocket Reform with the Macropad to one sideMacropad with a slider control attachedI noticed a problem – there was some burn-in on the OLED display where it had been mostly always-on in the past (lesson learned, to manage the screen output more carefully!) – but fortunately, Adafruit have done a lovely job of making that easy to replace. I also think it might be nice to have that screen wedged up at a slight angle to aid readability.
OLED display showing ghostingRibbon connector for the display on the rear of the MacropadReplacement OLEDI have a notion that I can 3D print a case to more-or-less match the look of my Hyper Purple laptop. I don’t have an identical colour of filament, but I do have a range of options. I also ordered a bunch of different knobs for the potentiometer, and some alternate keycaps, so that I can make the look a bit more consistent as well.
A selection of filament colour optionsA close (?) matchSome rotation knob options and keycapsI don’t have a final case design yet (and I need to spend some time properly learning FreeCAD and/or Fusion360, really), and I also haven’t finished modifying the macros code to match what I’m using on Debian on the Pocket Reform, but this is just some work-in-progress.

Jayne keeps challenging me! Her latest suggestion was that I create a 3D printed Laying Tool. This is a tool used for laying embroidery threads (often silk) flat onto the fabric backing. This avoids getting finger oils on delicate threads.
A bit of FreeCAD work, several printing iterations, and I think I have a winner. I'll make it a bit longer, increase the tip radius, and and increase the number of instances.
An earlier test had stability and consistency issues. Neighbour Grant suggested the cooling wasn't sufficient and that leaving more time between layers would solve the problem. And so it was - a set of 6 printed cleanly where a single one did not.
Tomorrow I'll do the (hopefully) final refinements, then print a larger batch. I'll eventually need a few hundred as promotional giveaways.

Too bad that I didn't pay attention to the seam position. It still looks pretty nice, imho.
