Today I went to @hobbyhimmel to meet @MaSeWa and to use the new #lasercutter to make a crate with customized dimensions out of fibreboard. I generated that box with @backspace's boxes.py https://boxes.hackerspace-bamberg.de/ The best tool to simply generate boxes.
While I was there I wanted to try out the new #3dprinter. So I printed a logo made of two colors.
My objektive in building those was no to loose my knowledge on using the FabLab machines.
@hobbyhimmel is really a great space to make things!

I'm helping the hubby 3d scan some objects for work. We've covered those objects/the floor with reflective dots to help the scanner keep track of itself.
Is there such a thing as "anti reflective dots" that could be incorporated into something like a temporary tattoo or face paint that protesters could use to thwart facial recognition software? Bonus points if it could "qr code"-force the software to return the image of a guy fawkes mask instead. : P#technology #facialrecognition #3dprint

For this #FreeCADFriday I made a hose passthrough to install a handheld bidet next to the sink cabinet.
It was a fun endeavor to create the assembly. The elements are split to be placed around the hose and hold together via threads. An additional helix on the inside is custom fit onto the hose to prevent it from slipping through the grommet.

I am prototyping paper airplanes usinge the idea of 3D-printing directly to thin paper and then cutting the parts for assembly.
I also tried using a 3D-pen. Both ways work and the planes fly pretty well. Next up: bigger plane + supercap-motor unit.The idea is inspired by a recent video of Tom Stanton.

My first #cyberdeck, #3dprint, #raspberry Pi 5.
In theory everything fits perfectly.
In practice though, not so much... had to reroute the switch to the outside (the PETG expanded and sagged more than I expected) and as two flaps broke off (my mistake in #FreeCAD, they had 0.1mm distance from where they should have attached), had to close the case with tape instead.
But otherwise it works... -
This #FreeCADFriday I have another tool for household repairs.
This is a versatile hex wrench I used for switching several faucets.
The FreeCAD file is parameterized so you can easily adapt it to your needs. I have already prepared and uploaded a host of ready-to-print sizes.
