If you have some wrapping paper scraps after all the wrapping and unwrapping, why not make some pleated hearts out of them this year?
Basically you cut two fully-rounded rectangles out of two different patterned/coloured pieces of paper, fold both in half so there's a straight end on the fold and the two semi-circles are on top of eachother on the other end, then cut at least three equal-length lines straight up from the fold towards the rounded edge, but no deeper than to where the straight edge starts to turn into a semi circle.
Next you'll have to weave the 'flaps' you created through and around the ones of the opposite piece of paper.
As the linked instructions say:To get yourself situated, place your two, folded pieces of paper at a right angle to form a heart shape. Then weave the paper, starting with the strips at the top, closest to the rounded side.

two nights of labour but the family #yuletide gifts are finally ready!
everyone we know drinks #tea and #coffee so we wanted to give something different, south american #yerbamate. 100% none of them tried it, so we bought a matecup and bombilla straw, bundled with 6 different infused taste profiles that we've split and bagged plus one bag of fancy #chocolates.
hopefully it's not so bad. we did try one and it was pretty mild, a bit of a reminiscent of #matcha.

A little late, by I finally got the tree.
I'm hoping someone else will decorate it because it took longer than I expected. I got up early and started my other chores by I still have to cook dinner, eat it, then clean the kitchen.
Then it will be time for a rest.
Holly the Cat seems nervous and is curled up in her tightly fitting comfort box, by my feet.
I think it was all the noise of dragging it in and cutting off enough to make it fit.

I grew up outside religion but I like Christmas. Time off, hanging out eating and drinking with family & friends, exchanging gifts ... celebrate or not how you like, but that's how I do it. As I tell my kids, you don't have to believe in Santa, but if you don't he's not bringing you anything.
Anyway Christmas tunes are a thing, and I dig 'em. This is, I think, a definitive playlist not just of the ideal songs, but the best versions. Ho ho ho.
