@tonygeb23 @wmj1102 For real DJ mixing, beat / key matching we are using @mixxx. It can be used exclusively with the keyboard, can play the mix locally or broadcast to icecast. It needs a bit of learning, even the screen reader accessibility of #mixxx can be improved, but I know some talented blind deejays who can make some good use of that. -

As soon as I learn more and start getting confidence I'll give #Mixxx a bigger change.Fortunatelly, Rekordbox is not that much enshittified (yet) as is #Serato (a shitty software), but it is still closed in its ecosystem: #Pioneer_DJ, though curiously enough, the controller I have - DDJ-FLX4 - works also with serato, so #Pioneer isn't exactly pushing Rekordbox down the throat, as #Numark is doing with Serato.

I just started learning to #DJ.
I've bought this course on Udemy and I've been watching some YouTube videos on the topic: https://www.udemy.com/course/10steps2dj/?couponCode=MT260727G1The instructor (and most beginner's YouTube videos) uses #Rekordbox for the majority of the practices.
For the controller, I've bought a Numark Mixtrack Pro FX, which "comes" with Serato DJ Lite, but right from the beginning I felt how #enshitified it was! The Lite is so limited that it makes me remind the term #Crackware, which was used to addict people on the software for them you buy it.The Numark controller is good, and I could like it and keep it, except from the fact it's very tight to Serato, which was my decision to return it and get a Pioneer DJ FLX4, which brands both Rekordbox and Serato, so it's a more "whitelabel" product.
Anyway, all that to say that @mixxx is saving my beginner's learning experience (and also saved Numark from a bad review).
If you're on the same journey as I, I deeply recommend to get a Pioneer DJ controller to run away from Serato, it doesn't worth it (beginner's opinion).

Anyway, this guy (intro to DJing with Mixxx/David Shimel) answered my question. So, can definitely now do a seamless DJ transition... provided they are compatible style tracks. (similar beat, similar style, and not a glaring mismatch in key... I guess which keys are compatible I should know from all those years of music theory, but that stuff went in one ear and out the other lol)

Okay, here's the magic button! If you click on the magnet it turns on "quantize", which automagically syncs the two tracks you have selected by the beat. So, seamless transition between tracks.

Day seven #WeekOfPatching. I recorded and uploaded a way to long video showcasing the Midi receiver and websocket connection. Next up will be updating the log accordingly, write a few words about the sync conncetion and publishing the patch for others to use.

Day four and five of #weekOfPatching, I added a websocket connection, that syncs the midi-for-light from #mixxx. Quickly whipped it out at the office party, but it was a bit more chaotic than expected. Worked great tho!
