I often end up lashing things on top of my rear rack (waterproofs mostly!) and they often obscure my light that used to live on my seatpost. I've whipped up a little #freecad doohickey and #3dprinted it in PETG. It can be loosened and rotated to the side or underneath depending on what I'm carrying. Pleased with it! #biketooter I shall publish the files somewhere soon!

  27. @freecad A friend has a Pelican case clone for audio equipment. Unfortunately an airline brutalised it and killed the flimsy handle it had.

    Enter FreeCAD, some PETG+TPU and now there's even sturdier one in place.

  29. For this #FreeCADFriday I made a hose passthrough to install a handheld bidet next to the sink cabinet.

    It was a fun endeavor to create the assembly. The elements are split to be placed around the hose and hold together via threads. An additional helix on the inside is custom fit onto the hose to prevent it from slipping through the grommet.

  30. I have a habit of coming up with an idea for something I want to make and easily find that thing has already been made but it’s not just what I wanted, then I end up doing it from scratch

    This steamdeck stand was this week’s boondoggle. I just want a simple stand and didn’t want geometries that are unnecessarily hard to print and waste material.

    This one is 34 grams and just four simple perimeters.

    Shout out to Valve for posting the #steamdeck CAD to make this easy.

  31. My first #mayke was to add a phone magsafe ring to the 3dprinted rugged case for my #xteinkx4 ereader.. however the reader wobbled on it so I did a quick @freecad of a thin TPU surround I badly glued on! Wobble solved. #freecadfriday

  33. Quick project, we finished rebuilding a couple of Artillery X1s and needed a case for the screen/Pi running Klipper (existing designs didn't work). Fan mount on back, port access on side. Still some work to go. Will have a front face plate that screws in to the front. Nothing complex. #freecadfriday

    This is a versatile hex wrench I used for switching several faucets.

    The FreeCAD file is parameterized so you can easily adapt it to your needs. I have already prepared and uploaded a host of ready-to-print sizes.

  39. Not yet #freecadfriday but I've knocked up a replacement desklamp holder for a Luigi Colani designed 1970's desk. First time I've played with lofting, tapering and polar rotation in one model! And I managed it in under half an hour.

  40. This week's #freecadfriday project, the first working prints finished today.

    I use Polymaker's Polydryer boxes, that are silica gel boxes that can be just dropped onto their dryer machine without taking the spool out. While it's a decent product, the spool hub has annoyed me for a long time about them. There's just this plastic cylinder that goes there and while it's passable with plastic filament spools, it introduces noticeable drag on the cardboard ones that most of mine are these days.

    I set out to find a way to modify them to get rid of this nasty misfeature.

  46. I created this cable organizer in #FreeCAD some time ago. It's a modular design of stackable boxes with variable widths.

    Wrote a FreeCAD macro, which makes the process incredibly efficient to export many widths and styles to STL with a single click. Even the animation was generated using a small script to showcase the assembly.
