Jayne keeps challenging me! Her latest suggestion was that I create a 3D printed Laying Tool. This is a tool used for laying embroidery threads (often silk) flat onto the fabric backing. This avoids getting finger oils on delicate threads.

A bit of FreeCAD work, several printing iterations, and I think I have a winner. I'll make it a bit longer, increase the tip radius, and and increase the number of instances.

An earlier test had stability and consistency issues. Neighbour Grant suggested the cooling wasn't sufficient and that leaving more time between layers would solve the problem. And so it was - a set of 6 printed cleanly where a single one did not.

Tomorrow I'll do the (hopefully) final refinements, then print a larger batch. I'll eventually need a few hundred as promotional giveaways.

Some more gifts I've made. Persian was for an online friend, who was really into Pokémon.
The pink haired witch was for my best friend, she's into things of this sort. I don't really understand it, but it's something she's interested in so this pattern reminded me of her! And the witch's hair is pink because that's bestie's favorite color.
The penguin was for my best friend's mother, who likes penguins.
And the bear was for an old friend who loves anything that has to do with bears.

I do other things besides pinball themes. My biggest project so far was the Daft Punk one. I made that with pic2pat.com and added the All your base meme text next to it. I don't remember how long it took me to make, but I am really proud of it and display that also at the arcade.
Also on display is the MST3K cross stitching, a pattern I found online. It's a bit niche over here, as the show was never broadcast in Finland, I only know of it and have seen it, thanks to my partner. I think that show is the reason I love watching really bad movies for fun.
I have also made a bunch of my own pride flags over the years, they've ended up on my bags as decoration.

Here's some more. The Attack from Mars one and A Tiger's Leap one are also on display at the arcade. We don't have Attack from Mars, only Revenge from Mars, but the callout "London Bridge is falling down!" always rubbed me the wrong way because that is not the London Bridge, it's the Tower Bridge. And the tiger is from Theater of Magic, another game we don't have, but I really like it and I wanted to see how well I could make this cool tiger in cross stitch form.
The Lord of the Rings one was a gift for my mother-in-law, who loves the franchise. And the White Water one was a surprise gift for another hobbyist who has a thing for this game, and inflatable boats were a running gag associated with him. So the bounce back was replaced with the Finnish word for a rubber boat.

In my intro I said I do cross stitching. But not just any sort of cross stitching. My dearest hobby shows in this, too.
I've made all my patterns utilising screenshots of the ColorDMD videos, as there are so, so many of them.
I make these for my own amusement and to decorate our arcade. They are on display at the hangout area by my register, so anyone can come and take a look at them.
The first one's from Monster Bash, the second from Twilight Zone, the third one from Fish Tales and the fourth from Scared Stiff.
