I feel your frustration,
I wish the #nativeplants community would offer opinionated solutions for civilians who want to convert to #nolawn .I dearly wanted to #rewild our 1/2 acre lawn and gave up after a year of research and a $60k quote from a landscape architect.
The closest I could find to DIY instructions is the recent book Prairie Up and some sub Reddits (which I dropped post enshittification).
