  1. Safe protesting to everyone at the #NoKings protests today!

Here in #PuertoRico we are also marching for Biodiversity in the island and against the illegal, proposed mega resort in Cabo Rojo that would destroy swaths of protected forests, misappropriate tons of water, and rob #PuertoRicans of their land. We are marching to the Fortaleza to demand this colonialist land grab be stopped immediately! #EsenciaNoVa

SOMOS MÁS, Y NO TENEMOS MIEDO!!

Among #Latinos, #Mexicans in what we now call the Southwest have experienced US #colonialism the longest and most directly, with #PuertoRicans not far behind

  11. "He was browsing a record store in Santa Monica when he found an album by the Puerto Rican artist José Feliciano, sending him down a rabbit hole into the singer-songwriter’s 60-year career. Yes, there’s the Christmas classic 'Feliz Navidad,' but there are also 19 Grammy nominations, 56 albums, and his stripped-down, folksy take on 'The Star-Spangled Banner' in 1968 that was met with such outrage that racists began calling for Feliciano to be deported, even though Puerto Ricans are U.S. citizens.

“'It struck me that I think a lot of younger people don’t know how big he was,' Martínez explains. “People are like, ‘Oh, Bad Bunny is breaking ground with gringos!’ No, papi — José Feliciano was breaking ground with gringos since the Seventies, you hear me? He was doing worldwide tours, he was in London, singing in English, singing to Anglophone audiences.” rollingstone.com/music/music-f

  16. #PuertoRicans are devising the #FoodSystem of tomorrow

    by Ayurella Horn-Muller, September 3, 2025

Excerpt: "In the wake of #HurricaneMaria, many residents of #PuertoRico, especially those working to improve the archipelago’s local food system, began to think about hurricane preparedness differently. Because they weren’t able to rely on federal assistance, they decided to build their own prototypes of #resilience, which didn’t just set them up to be ready for the next storm, but also set them up to live better everyday lives. #Cooperatives, #gardens, and school-based agricultural programs emerged to fill the gaps left by the government. #Barter networks and local farmers markets have become increasingly popular. #MutualAid kitchens and community-led supermarkets have also expanded their work, ramping up donations, surplus food, and partnerships with nearby producers. These projects aren’t just temporary disaster responses. They are models of long-term resilience and food independence. They are living blueprints of what food sovereignty could look like in Puerto Rico — and elsewhere."

The attempted bum rush of the National Museum of #PuertoRican Arts and Culture this morning coming SCREAMING to mind, here's the tricky bit those grade 9 drop outs didn't know, #PuertoRico is a US territory, #PuertoRicans? Are #American citizens and can vote. It's not about criminals, it's racism!

Drove to the local Patel brothers before the supply chain runs low. Plenty of rice and beans on the shelves.
One of the few benefits of not being white in the USA is that the food is better.
(Yes, I'm from #PuertoRico but I shop in the Indian market because all the stuff #PuertoRicans eat is native south #Asia and the quality is higher at the Asian markets.)
    Bonus: absolutely zero Goya products.

My statement was meant to show that even though #PuertoRicans are technically #Americans their votes only count if they live in the CONTINENTAL #UnitedStates they deserve better.

With every insane appointment, I grow more & more skeptical the #TreasonWeasel's victory was legitimate.

He said on multiple occasions, "I don't need your vote. I have all the votes I need." Women voting for BOTH T**** AND to protect #Roe. 70% of #PuertoRicans in Osceola County, FL voted for the guy who invited the "floating island of garbage" comic to open his rally? And after trashing #Detroit while IN Detroit and laughing with #Musk over his union busting, he wins Michigan???
