So, I've been downloading #GBLTQ resources and historical documents (including #QueerTalk, a radio show on #WMPG hosted by one of my first friends after I moved to #Maine). Why am I doing this? Because I don't trust #Trump and fiends to be in charge of public university archives. I'll be uploading those precious digital records to the @internetarchive soon. So grateful IA are there to be an independent repository of #History and #Culture! 📚 🎧 🎥

So, TIL about #Jobriath (#BruceWayneCampbell) who was the first openly #Gay rock star (and who died of #AIDS in 1983). #NYMike on #WMPG highlighted Jobriath and other #Gay musicians on today's #MindFuzz!

So, I see that a few of #WMPG's podcasts and shows are on the #InternetArchive. I've been downloading some of their more political shows to upload as a record of these times...

#CommunityVoicesForChange - Maine Women's Lobby
30 mins - First Aired February 23, 2026 on #WMPG-FM
Host: Richard Rudolph"The podcast for February 23, 2026 is an interview of Destie Hoffman Sprague who is the Executive Director of the Maine's Women Lobby. The show focused on a referendum question that will be on the Maine ballot this coming fall which would restrict transgender students’ access to school sports and facilities. Destie first talked about why the League is involved in this issue and why it has joined a coalition to defeat the proposal. The coalition contends the referendum will increase bullying and harassment, cost schools millions in potential ligation and undermine public education. According to Destie the referendum is spearheaded by the group Protect Girls Support in Maine which seeks to mandate sports by sex, requiring public school students to play on sports teams based on the sex listed on their birth certificates. Destie believes the effort to restrict transgender students from playing sports in Maine is primarily driven by the Trump Administration which has threatened to pull federal education funding if the state does not ban transgender girls from female sports. Maine's Governor, Janet Mills, Attorney General Aaron Frey, and the Maine Principals’ Association are opposed. In closing, Destie encouraged listeners to get involved in the fight to defeat this measure. which would undermine Maine's existing #HumanRightsAct which protects #GenderIdentity."

#InterculturalInsights on #WMPG alternates between four different segments... A brand new one, #TheWeavers, airs on the first Tuesday of the month at 11:30am - 12 noon (right before #DemocracyNow). The other three shows are great as well... Shows available for five weeks after airdates via the audio archives...
"Intercultural Insights offers four different shows that air once a month.
On the first Tuesday of every month The Weavers are weaving the values of their ancestors into the world we share today. Hosts #LisaSockabasin and #NancyLaCoote explore #Wabanaki values and how these values are lived (or not lived) today.
"On the second Tuesday of each month, #ReturningTheLand is hosted by USM professor Dr. #DavidLowry, the founder of the #IndigenousPeoplesTrust—an initiative calling for justice and the return of Indigenous land.
"The third Tuesday of the month features Dr. #IdellaGlenn, the Vice President of Equity, Inclusion, and Community Impact at USM with her show: Building USM’s Beloved Community. Unspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s Beloved Community, Dr. Idella Glenn sits down with members of the community to foster and embrace the all-#inclusive spirit of USM.
"And on the fourth Tuesday of each month, #VoicesAndVisions: The #Podcast is an #Artisttalk series that features #IndigoArts Alliance’s alumni artists in residence, highlighting their similarities, creative #intersections, distinct voices, and their residence experience. Each episode is a conversation between two artists while they were in residence at Indigo Arts Alliance."
