The prompt is #bleakComsat Angels, “Restless” from Sleep No More (1981)
After punk music, and specifically UK punk, burned everything down, a stripped down, sometimes dark post-punk sound began moving across the landscape. Certainly Joy Division would be an easy choice here, but I’m going with this somber track from Comsat Angels, a band that I think should have been bigger, with their icy sound that foreshadowed what would become known as New Wave in the States.
