  3. Historical #Accordion Pre Recorded Announcement 🎙️

    @accordionnoir radio 2008-04

I’ll have to revive this one

It was perhaps my favourite PRA and would be great to get back on rotation before the big 2029 first 🪗 bicentennial

Needs updated show times, and we changed station ID too!

Love all the samples, “G’day Bruce!” and that #typewriter Ding! 🛎️

  5. New old music: English house DJ Dave Lee (Joey Negro, Jakatta) remixes Philadelphia-based disco outfit Double Exposure's 1976 hit "Everyman".

But if you're around my age, you'll more likely know this from its prominent use in M&S Presents The Girl Next Door: Salsoul Nugget (If U Wanna), which also samples "Hit and Run" by Loleatta Holloway (1977).

The M&S record is kind of like the 2001 equivalent of Spiller and Sophie Ellis-Bextor's "Groovejet" from the year prior, which I posted about last week.

  6. Demons! This is one of the great music references in my life!
🎧 Brian Eno & David Byrne
💿 My Life in the bush of ghosts

I have this original, but I ended up buying the reissue as it comes with an extra vinyl with recordings left in the studio at the time.

Curiosity - The track "Quran" was removed from side two on the reissues, so I keep both 😉

  8. Thomas Dolby – She Blinded Me With Science (Blinded By The Magic Of Science Mix) FREE DOWNLOAD

Found Objects is a music compilation series that celebrates the return of the remix and the art of sampling (as in found audio). Australian audio artist (and Cream magazine editor) Antonino Tati trawls the internet to discover the campest of documentaries, some mad retro advertisements, and cool-as film quotes, layering words of wit (and occasional dimwittedness) over alternative, preloved mixes of songs.

Each track is a pretty awesome head trip. Good to show off on the playlist! And the music featured is varied, with Volume 01 containing remixes of songs by Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Darren Hayes, Eurythmics, Suede, EMF, Thomas Dolby, George Michael, and Pet Shop Boys.

Here’s a pop classic from the early ’80s, Thomas Dolby’s She Blinded Me With Science, thrown onto the bunsen burner and coming out sounding hot.

Here’s one of our favourites from Madonna, Candy Perfume Girl off of her Ray Of Light album, but remixed into a trance-like instruction manual on how to apply perfume. It’s camp, it’s kitsch, it’s catchy. Full lyrics below, and remember, earbuds in is always better!

  20. 🎧🎶 Keep scrolling... nothing to see here!
Unless you are sick and tired of normal music; in that case, STOP AND LISTEN.
This is the third and last set I have done with sampling tracks.

Because these #producers do not sell their music, it is hard to find them, but this is a huge #underground of #AntiCopyright people who produce music by cutting bits and pieces from TV and radio speeches, #spokenwords and #sampling everything into a #strange #music architecture.

Following my post about sampling music research, here is the second mix of tracks I made a couple of years ago.
An amalgamation of the best tracks of #sampling #music.
And believe me... I have searched thousands of tracks and artists to get this done!

  22. Is not your type of music! 🤔
For almost 20 years I've been exploring what I simply call #sampling #music . It's an underground style of #electronic music created from thousands of #audio, sliced and put together.

A very cleaver idea to create music!
Artists such as #negativland , The Bran Flakes, Animals Within Animals and many others have built a scene based on #creativity rather than commercialism. Here's The first DJ set I did from my favorite tracks.
