Sep 6, 1921: On this date Andrée Geulen was born in Schaerbeek, Belgium. She was a member of the Belgian Resistance during WW2, specifically working to hide Jewish children from the Nazis. She became involved in the Comité de Défense des Juifs (CDJ) in the Spring of 1943 and remained active with the CDJ until Sept 1944 when Brussels was liberated by the Allies. (1/6)

Andrée Dumon was implicated by a Belgian collaborator and arrested by the Nazis on Jan 15, 1943 at her home. After she was arrested her role in the underground was taken over by her sister Michou. Andrée was imprisoned at the Ravensbrück concentration camp and subsequently at Mauthausen, but survived the war. In this interview after the war, she describes her arrest in the night:

Her involvement began when she volunteered to distribute the underground newspaper La Libre Belgique. She subsequently became a courier working alongside her father who was a member of the underground Luc-Marc Intelligence Service.
