Hier, j'ai découvert Tongues Untied, de Marlon Riggs, et c'est un film qui restera gravé dans ma mémoire.
En 1989, à une époque où un homme gay noir devait bien souvent choisir entre lutte noire et lutte gay, Riggs articule un discours audiovisuel en noir et gay dont l'esthétique hybride m'a semblé unique en son genre, sans parler de la force de chaque texte performé, chaque parole incarnée.

Wij, de AG van Queer Antifa Brussel verzetten ons tegen de « officiële » Pride die wordt georganiseerd door visit.brussel het toerisme centrum van Brussel. Ze recupereren wat historisch gezien een protest is en er is gebrek aan transparantie over de doelstellingen van het evenement. Confronted to the official Pride programmed by the touristic organisation of the city visit.brussels, we queer antifascist assembly of Brussels call out the recuperation of what is historically a riot as well as the lack of transparency of the event. Every year the participation of the police and of political parties including far right parties makes us question the objectives of the Brussels Pride because they clearly concern merchandising and pink washing more than the struggle of the LGBTQIA+ community.

REACT IN THE FACE OF EMERGENCY

We must unite in the current rise of transphobic moral panic crafted by the far-right and of withdrawal of queer rights in the global North. Between the UK where the supreme court recently passed a transmisogynistic bill defining what it means to be a woman and Hungary where the Pride has simply been banned this year, the ambushes being lead through Grindr and the murders of our trans sisters throughout the globe it is time we raise our voices above the party which the Pride has been reduced to.

JOINING FORCE IN OUR STRUGGLES

The capitalistic, patriarcal and colonial system divides us, opposes us and seeks to control our bodies to maintain its power. The genocide happening in Palestine, like the violence perpetrated in East Congo are nothing but the result of a society model based off the theft of life and ressources. We demand the self-determination of the people on their land and of individuals on their bodies. We refuse instrumentalisation of our struggles to justify racism and imperialism and we condemn the xenophobic policies of Europe and Belgium which impact LGBTQIA+ migrants among others. We also refuse the antisocial program of the Belgian government which only profits the most wealthy by targeting all the workers and particularly the most precarious ones who are often already victim of oppression.
