His family reports that Lopez Cornejo called them daily to complain about overcrowded conditions and being forced to drink water from the bathroom sink.
He told his family that he was not receiving his medications, which he took to manage seizures, diabetes, and high blood pressure.
Cornejo was eventually taken to University Hospital in Newark, where he was pronounced dead. He was 22nd person to die in ICE custody this year, and the second to die at Delaney Hall.

* If they refuse to leave, call the local cops and tell them that you have people claiming to be law enforcement (who are armed) at your front door and you have asked them to leave your property, and they have refused or refused to acknowledge your command and do not appear to have a judicial warrant.
