The neighbors are about to get a rude awakening.

This is one of the great albums of the #90s , and for me, very underrated.

I think the majority of people my age who lived though that decade’s music in real time certainly remembers “Seether”, as they should, cuz that’s a great song.

However, American Thighs is full of them. Both Nina Gordon and Louise Post are excellent songwriters, and listening to this album front to back, the contrast of alternating songs from each songwriter, makes for a killer, powerful album.

Heavy, noisy, catchy, great harmonies… it’s a fantastic record, and far more than just one hit song.

Fans of the legendary Canadian punk band Nomeansno will recognize this gem!

Mr. Wrong is Nomeansno bassist and singer Rob Wright.

On this single, these two songs are just Wright’s bass and voice, and nothing else.

This version of “State Of Grace” is fucking killer!!! It’s a song that Nomeansno would go on to perform on their 1995 album The Worldhood Of The World (As Such). I much prefer THIS version. It’s just absolutely savage.

The flip side is Wright’s take on the classic Skeeter Davis song “The End Of The World”.

Apparently, this single never had distribution in any record stores. It was solely released independently by the band.

A fucking fantastic single.

Today (and possibly tomorrow, if I don't finish it today) I'm listening to the full chronological discography of the Smithereens/Pat DiNizio solo records. Not including the cover records they/he did (Beatles, Buddy Holly, Who, etc) or the compilations - just EPs and full lengths. Also trying a couple live records of theirs (one is a bootleg) that I haven't heard yet. Even though the Smithereens are my favorite band, I'm notoriously averse to live records of any kind (although I love shows). But I'm gonna try em. The whole thing is like, 9.5 hours.
