Abbey Road Half-Speed Master 25th Anniversary EditionLast spin of the night goes to a flawless masterpiece, and one of the greatest albums ever.
Made up almost entirely of samples, this is the gold standard example of how to use sampling right.
Shadow recorded the album with nothing but an Akai MPC60 II sampler, a few turntables, and a ton of obscure vinyl records, chopping tiny pieces of those records into entirely new compositions.SO NEW in fact, that they don’t actually feel like samples. That’s how fucking good it is.
Any D.J.s out there or lovers of #HipHop should study the shit out of this record, and it needs to be in your record collection.
It’s higher plain kind of shit.
A living, breathing work of art.And a STELLAR sounding pressing that more than does it justice.
