@Crystal_Fish_Caves I know that song! My friend #DJShaxx played it on the air not too long ago.

Heh, #DJShaxx just did his patented karaoke weather report to a Smiths song ("Panic in the Streets of London") and he put in lyrics about calling the #ICEHotline! "Call the hotline, call the hotline!" YES!!!
-
So, back when I started hanging out with #DJShaxx, I told him I had 3 things I wanted to achieve before I left this realm... 1) To be on the air; 2) Finish my first novel; 3) See the fall of #Capitalism! A third of the way done the novel (and working hard to get it done), but the order might be switched. After all, the end of my saga is a #PostCapitalist #SolarPunk world, and I think it could only happen if number 3 takes place ('cuz, let's envision the world we want to live in and that future generations will inherit). PS - There was a LOT of #Synchronicity during the #Bowie broadcast. Both Shaxx and I think it's a SIGN!

Too much fun! And yeah! We covered everything we wanted to talk about -- #Lovecraft, #MajorTom, #SpaceAliens... It was a blast!

#DJShaxx Rocks! This was one of the tunes he played tonight! Such a rabble rouser!
" 'Panic in Detroit' is a song written by the English singer-songwriter #DavidBowie for the album Aladdin Sane in 1973. Bowie based it on his friend #IggyPop's descriptions of revolutionaries he had known in #Michigan and Pop's experiences during the 1967 #DetroitRiots."
Wikipedia - "The 1967 #DetroitRiot, also known as the 12th Street Riot and the Detroit Uprising, was the bloodiest of the urban riots in the United States during the 'long, hot summer of 1967'. Composed mainly of confrontations between African American residents and the Detroit Police Department, it began in the early morning hours of Sunday, July 23, 1967, in Detroit, Michigan."

Wow! Well that was fun! We even received a MAGA phone caller who complained about #DJShaxx's #ICE announcement -- good! Shaxx put him on speaker phone so we could hear how ranty the caller was. If you missed tonight's #LeftOfTheDial special #Bowie show, you can stream it at the link below!

So yeah, this Wednesday, I'll be on the airwaves talking about #DavidBowie with #DJShaxx and playing #Bowie tunes. Some of the topics we plan to cover? Why #Genderfluidity, #Orwell, #MajorTom, #Magick, and even #Lovecraft! Yes, it will be a very interesting broadcast that will go into the #Galactic unknown! If you miss the show, it will be archived. But, you'll won't want to miss this show!
-
@libramoon I'm planning on playing Bowie's "#BigBrother" from Diamond Dogs (and talking about #Orwell). #DJShaxx is totally into that!
-
So, my buddy #DJShaxx rocks! He's going to help me finish my DJ training so I can be on the air! Maybe I will end up being #RaeFlowers / #RayFlowers after all. Hmmmmm...

Tomorrow is the last day of #WMPG's Fall #Begathon! Support #CommunityRadio! Where you'll hear #DemocracyNow, #CommunityVoicesForChange, #LeftOfTheDial (with my buddy #DJShaxx -- a blend of resistance commentary and great music), #InterculturalInsights, #TheWeavers, #ReturningTheLand (with Dr. #DavidLowry), #AlternativeRoute (with #DJHope) and so much more!
Begathon – we are at $42,000 as of Tuesday eve
"Begathon is here! From October 23rd–29th, WMPG will celebrate a week of fun, music, and community as we raise $50,000 to keep your favorite community and college radio station thriving.
We live in a time when so much of what we hear is driven by algorithms and automation but WMPG is proudly human. Every show on our airwaves is created by volunteers who share their own voices, stories, and music choices, not for faceless crowds, but for real people who listen and care. That connection builds trust and belonging, both on and off the air. You can hear it in the conversations, the friendships, and the community that grows around this station. When you give to WMPG, you’re helping keep that human connection strong, keeping real voices and local stories on the air."

Next up, I turned the tables on #DJShaxx and introduced him to #NorthAmericanScum by #LCDSoundsystem from 2007. A bunch of us were singing along, screaming out "SCUM!"
"So throw a party 'til the cops come in and bust it up, let's go, North Americans
Oh, you were planning it? I didn't mean to interrupt, sorry
I did it once and my parents got pretty upset, freaked out in North America
But then I said, 'The more I do it, the better it gets', that's my North America(Ah-ah) Oh, oh, oh, oh
We are North American scum
(Ah-ah) Oh, oh, oh
We're from North America!"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJ2np7R-Uwg

I first heard #Oligarchy by #TeenMortgage (2023) on #DJShaxx's radio show, #LeftOfTheDial. He was quite pleased that I played it at the club!
"Can we all agree we got an issue?
Watching all these rats cheat the race
'Specially when they told you, "go get a tissue,"
For all the ones who'd made last place, wellPigs with power in their ivory tower
Mothers shop for four down at the dollar store, and
Tons of cowards make them work those long hours
Because corporate flaws, they make all the lawsI think we all agree it's getting kinda gnarly
Unless you're part of the oligarchy

So, this past Saturday, I had the honor of spinning with my favorite radio DJ -- #DJShaxx of #WMPG! It was a night filled with righteous anger, stompy dancing, hope and love! Just what we needed to recharge before going back to fight the good fight! I'll be doing a special #FridayNightVideo session with videos based on our sets. Join me for some #RevolutionRock this Friday!

#WMPG, #CommunitySupportedRadio, needs your HELP! If you can, please donate to their #Begathon! WMPG broadcasts #DemocracyNow every weekday, and has some great volunteer DJs who play a variety of music (like #DJShaxx) -- and emphasize #BlackHistoryMonth, #WomensHistoryMonth, #Pride, and more! They even have #Caribbean and #Latin shows! And, of course, lots of community issues and commentary! Support Independent Radio!

So, I'm attempting to get #DJShaxx to DJ at an upcoming in-person event. The theme? #RevolutionDanceParty! It will be the second time I've hosted such an event. The first time was right before #TrumptyDumpty was elected in 2016 (on #November5). I won't be doing a lot of events this year, but this will be one of them...!

Leave it to #DJShaxx to find a song about #ElonMusk! Brilliant!
English translation of lyrics:
At night, I was standing in the queue
For the door with Elon Musk
We chatted for a while
He drank a sip of my beer
"How's things in Brandenburg?"
"Yeah, the factory1 is gaining steam"
And I quickly mentioned
My theory of class warfare
But before I knew it
He was gone
Elon Musk can't get into the Berghain!
Oh, Elon, Elon, no, no, no
They won't let you in like that
I know, it's really mean of them
Elon, Elon, no, no, no!I looked for him
And found him, angry and frustrated
I said: "Elon, don't be sad
It's happened to all of us.
Do you see all the stars up there?
Somwhere up there is Mars
I'm sure you'll have just as much fun there."
