I've just purchased the domain solent.social as I'm thinking about possibly making that an instance that my friends, family, local business' and more can join.
In the end the local social group could easily start using an instance like that and then move away when they feel like a new part of the Fediverse, different software or anything else makes more sense for them.
I'm not sure if that's the best idea or if I'm just sorta just overstepping with creating this sort of stuff.

The platform affords wonderful views the #land and the #sea almost all the way around. Here, for example, you can see a #PassengerFerry bound for the Isle of Wight, which can be seen across the strait (the #Solent). The town on the over side of the bay is #Gosport.

Guess who knocked the front standard again! Getting the hang, and using a wide angle presents itself with some headaches with the smaller bag bellows.
Trying to correct for the distortion of the wide angle lens, parallels in the verticals and fiddle with the depth of field ‘in-camera’ by moving, rotating and tilting the lens and film plane is a challenge and was so, so close! I need to watch removing the old timey focussing cloth on my head 🥴
Fairly happy otherwise and need to work out why the negs are getting scratched, I suspect it’s the film holder loading process.
