GTR has launched a recruitment scheme with the #University of #Brighton and the University of Chichester to help students gain paid rail work while studying. Six students are completing eight weeks of training to become On Board Supervisors before working one weekend day a week, allowing them to fit shifts around their studies. The trial aims to give young people valuable work experience while helping GTR fill key frontline roles. Students receive the same benefits as other employees, including free travel across the network. More than 150 people applied for the Brighton roles. The initiative follows GTR's commitment under the Rail Youth Charter to increase opportunities for 16 to 24-year-olds, with hopes the scheme can be expanded across the business and wider rail industry.

Stripe-winged Grasshoppers (Stenobothrus lineatus) usually have a pale costal stripe on its wing edge; a white 'comma' mark is more clear to see.
