I was going to post a more grim poem, but I wrote this one yesterday after talking to my friend Carmi, who was also born in Jerusalem. And then, coincidentally, Penny read me something written by a person who rescues cats in Jerusalem.
Jerusalem stone famously has a quality that can be called ethereal, in the way it reflects the light, especially noticeable at sunrise or sunset.

This is in response to a ‘prompt’ from the previous session of our poetry group: a picture of a small red hooded figure stepping onto a giant hand with a large jewelled ring on one finger, and a giant full moon overhead, also in red.
I found it a bit disturbing, so came up with an ‘antidote’ scenario.

I've only ever known my husband get to more than one location on a photoshoot on a couple of occasions. Usually there's just not the time.

This is my choice for January in our 2025 #IsleofWight calendar.
#ComptonBayMy husband who takes the photos much prefers other shots from this session but in my view this is the most suitable for the calendar. Looking at the mock up he's happy with it 😁
January is always a tricky month, the calendar needs to have an impact from the get go. I wouldn't want to look at a dreary image for the most depressing month of the year. -
The wreck of the #SSCarbon at #ComptonBay on the #IsleofWight
Taken at low tide a couple of days ago. This little tug boat was wrecked in 1947.Fortunately there was no loss of life as she was being towed away for salvage at the time.
