@FourT4 Thanks. I was wondering how the new organisation and date would compare. I'm pleased the event continues, although I suspect more has been lost than gained from the changes. I don't recall the old organisation needing to invest in a full page advertisement in Cycling Weekly to generate entries.

Cracking day out on the South Island Randonnée although numbers were way down on last year's event. On the plus side I didn't miss the May Bank Holiday traffic queues where the route crosses the approaches to Ryde. Gentle SE wind meant the run along the Military Road was the fastest ever. #IsleOfWight #cycling #BikeToot

Students at #Sandown’s The #BaySecondary returned to school earlier this month to find that floor-to-ceiling gates had been installed outside all #student #toilets, in a bid to combat vandalism and vaping.

We've had some mad waves around the Island this week. Thankfully things have calmed down now and the sun is out.

This is #Sandown which is usually quite a sheltered bay. You can see the pier in the distance, I imagine the dodgems and the slide at the end were closed that day!

The first bus ride on Saturday took me from East Cowes to Ryde. The second was to the beach at Sandown. Some big waves. I just managed to keep my feet dry. #sandown #IsleofWight

It's a bit wild for July but still quite warm.

This is #Sandown on the #IsleofWight It's a tourist hotspot and the beach is usually pretty crowded in the summer.

This isn't the case during the winter and my husband had the beach to himself when he took this view. Well, except that I was there too 😄

It's been a very blustery day here on the #IsleofWight

It's reminded me of a day a year or so ago when my husband took this shot at a bus stop in #Sandown

The waves were slamming into the sea wall making for a dramatic sight. Surprisingly, despite how this image seems the water was a safe distance away from the bus stop. Nonetheless we remained over on the other side of the road!

Last year I found some horrible, plastic advertising baubles.
Today I turned half a bauble into a mask, inspired by the description of "All colours, Sam" or "The Sandown Clown" a fascinating, berry-eating alien-ghost-robot with wooden parts. I first heard of it in a podcast where @Wihtlore told the story.

My mask is (losely) based on the description of Sam in #BUFORA magazine, rather than the drawing on the cover and inspired by Princess Mononoke's mask.
It will evolve
