Les bâteaux-feux (ou bâteaux-Phares) sont des phares à part entière qui étaient situés dans des endroits où il était impossible d'en construire un en dur. Le West-Hinder était l'un d'eux pendant les 130 ans de signalement du banc de sable en Mer du Nord. Je l'avais photographié lors d'une journée à la poursuite des phares de la côte belge en septembre 2011 à Zeebrugge.

The "West-Hinder" was one of them in the North Sea and did operate among others during 130 years of presence of a Lightship at the sand bank! I photographed it in September 2011 in Zeebrugge while a day at the seaside to get to every single Lighthouse of the Belgian seaside.

For #SchiffsSamstag here's the Brittany Ferries vessel, Mont St Michel, which sails a regular service between our home city of Portsmouth and Caen in the north of France. This was taken as she was heading to the UK while we were on our way out aboard a Virgin cruise ship in 2021.
