  1. I found this collective recently called ‘Pull the Plug’ and they are a protest action group based in the UK who are calling for regulation of AI tools.

I emailed them yesterday and asked them to join Mastodon and think you should too.

  6. I urge all the #AntiAi folks to put in minimum effort in keeping up with the tech...
... Your arguments hold little water if you just regurgitate issues from 12 months ago in a field that moves at the fastest pace of any tech so far.

Case in point, I still hear folks talk about walls for #Ai being #compute or training data...

... We blew past those limits. There are now multiple Ai development axis; #agentic, #reasoner, new #dice (current GPUs are pre ai tech) capabilities each one making the models more effective...

... The bad news (for biologicals) is, they are additive, and not just linearly

    The goal?
    #RSI - Recursive Self Improvement
Once they build RSI models, it's AGI by next Tuesday.

So yeah, channel your passion grasshoppers.
Learn where the cooling intakes on the Clankers are.
Memes and mutual adoration won't save us.

  9. While #freebsd isn't fully slop free, I think I might still make the switch from #nixos to it. At least until #netbsd or #redox can boot to sway with my hardware.

(or I can always pick back up my hobby OS project again and try my own lol)

If FreeBSD makes stricter #antiai policy, I will donate as much as I can, otherwise I am just using it as limbo until a better #antiAI alternative becomes viable.

Which honestly really sucks, I really liked freebsd and used it full time (~5 years ago) and it was super fun! It sucks that I don't feel comfortable donating to them because I don't want my money in the hands of any AI company. Maybe I could still donate to specific individuals that don't use AI though...

I feel like this whole AI thing is designed to hurt free software the hardest, and its making me really sad. This was supposed to be the escape from all the garbage, not to have it infect us too.
