These days it's almost impossible to find real handmade items from actual people on the marketplace websites (Etsy, Facebook Marketplace, etc.) without having to wade through gigantic mounds of tacky mass produced items, uncanny AI slop, and disgusting spam. Profiteering corporations have turned what the Internet could be, a global free exchange between humans, into the nightmare material we see today, a twisted amalgamation of fakery.
Crafty.Markets is YOUR classifieds marketplace on the Fediverse for buying and selling handmade crafts and goods. No mass produced things or AI slop is allowed. All items are shareable on the Fedi. We have no business model. I'm simply volunteering my time to serve the art community and try to make this virtual world a slightly better place.
It's *completely empty* now, but if you sign up today you can be one of the first people on the market! All items posted for sale are moderated to ensure integrity. All transactions are conducted directly between buyer and seller, and there are no cuts taken or any charges to post your ad. I will need some volunteer moderators in the future to help out with this community run project.
