* ASM68k vs Blitter...

As the Atari ST has no textmode graphics, I still trying my experiments to do some things with that... But the Blitter is too slow for drawing thousands 8x8 16 colours chars, so I tried with some ASM routines. As I'm a 68k rookie, it took me some time, but here are the first results with a PETSCII image from Mermaid / Genesis Projet :

- on the left, Blitter : 1.135s
- on the right, ASM68k : 0.21s

Mein Gopherhole hat jetzt endlich, wie es sich für den Gopherspace gehört, eine ASCII-Grafik als Titel...

Da Gopher (anders als das Web) binäre Bilder nicht direkt darstellen, sondern nur verlinken kann, waren ASCII-Grafiken als grafische Elemente weit verbreitet.

Erstellt habe ich diese ASCII-Grafik mit dem Linux-Tool figlet.

Added in "loose" audio channel support and iterated on the ASCII art display. Though it's more like Unicode art at this point.

Examples included:
