Another year, another Cowes Week on the Isle of Wight in the United Kingdom. Not a bad event, but given it was the 200th year it could have been better in parts.

The town of #Cowes on the north side of the #IsleOfWight functions as the main #port for passengers from the #Mainland. It is bisected by the mouth of the #RiverMedina, which forms a cleft in the #Island. To cross from one side to the other, instead of the #bridge, the town has a small #Ferry guided by chains, which works all day and late into the evening to transfer pedestrians and road users from one side to the other.

We were lucky that that was the only wet day of our stay and a couple of days later, you can see both the vehicle and passenger #Ferries leaving the dock at #Cowes, which service the #island from the English #Mainland.
