  12. Today is the 14th consecutive day that #heatwave conditions have been met in #Dorset, making this the longest heatwave since my records began in July 2009.
However, this is the first day during this period that the date temperature record has not been broken!

  17. First Bus, backed by #Dorset Council, will increase Service 2 between Mount Pleasant Park & Ride and Weymouth from 23 July to meet higher summer demand. Monday to Saturday buses will run every 12 minutes instead of every 15, while Sunday services will increase from every 20 minutes to every 15. An extra Monday evening journey will also operate during the summer holidays for firework displays, with the last bus leaving King’s Statue at 10pm. Dorset Council is also upgrading the Park & Ride with new signage, digital displays and improved facilities. First Bus said the changes will help visitors reach the town centre, beaches and coast while easing congestion. The council said the investment aims to encourage greater use of the site, reduce traffic and emissions, improve air quality, and offer a convenient, good-value alternative to driving.
